Halo Reach Daily Challenge 15/01/2011

Shootin’ and Lootin’ – Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 2500cR

After One Spartan Army, you'll have another 150 to go (There will be some bleed over so it'll probably be a few less than that. I'd say, do 2 Gruntpocolypse, then go for Cook 'em, Clean 'em. The multiplayer shoud give you enough to get the final few.

One Spartan Army – Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000cR

1 game for Gruntpocolypse is all you need.

Storm’s Comin’ – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic or harder with Mythic and Thunderstorm on – 2750cR

The enemies have Double health & have been upgraded. Even on Heroic with these on, it's harder than Legendary. My suggestion is to do the same as always. Winter Contingency, just run it. When you're inside and can no longer run away, take a plasma pistol and hope it hits.

Cook ‘em, Clean ‘em! – Kill 5 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking while you’re jet-packing – 1700cR

Grenades, Rockets, even Melees if you do it right are all good here. Just make sure that once again, you are Jet-Packing as you get the kill. It's how the Firebird Medal is awarded and how this challenge goes up. Looking at the challenge, it appears to be done in more than 1 game. So don't ruin your game attempting to go for it.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 14/01/2011

Busy, Busy, Busy, so let's get moving:

Gunslinger – Kill 75 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1250 cR

Multi-Team will get you this rather quickly. 2-3 games of that, if it's objective and you just go for kills it'll be even quicker.

A Great Friend – Earn 30 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2000 cR

Playing invasion is a good way to do this. using the Plasma Pistol to remove shields and then picking up the kill is your friend with a Headshotable weapon. If you're human, punch them then armour lock. Works a treat.

Double Nickels – Earn 2 Killing Sprees in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1500 cR

This can be troublesome. Once again, objective games are hat you want. You need to stay out of the main action so you can survive the 5 kills but close enough to pick the guys off. Multi-Team objective is good. More confusion, more kills. They'll be less of a chance they're hunting you out.

The Love of the Game – Complete 17 games in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2500 cR

17 is a fairly large number. You just need to complete them though. No real effort required. Do try to put in some though. The more you win, the more cR you get.

Right, that's that. I'm going to get back to not knowing what I'm doing.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 13/01/2011

More FireFight then. Might as well keep up the weekly theme.

One Spartan Army – Kill 400 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 2000cR

400 kills will be around 4 games of Scoreattack. It's hard to do exact maths on Firefight. Just have some fun.

Be Their Huckleberry – Kill 40 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the pistol – 1800cR
Going Outpost-al – Kill 100 enemies on Outpost on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking – 1600cR
Bulletproof – Complete 1 Rounds in a Firefight Matchmaking game without dying – 1450cR

Now, all of these 3 are doable in 1 game. All you need to do is set up a Gruntpocolypse on Outpost. Now, start of with the pistol. The first shot is just as accurate as a DMR. It's also got a high rate of fire if you suddenly find yourself surrounded. Take a Drop Shield and use that as a piece of cover to place in between you and a bunch of Grunts. Will really help in your escape and survival. In a nutshell, grab the high ground, start with the pistol, get headshots on the grunts, take out the Fuel Rod buggers quickly, and deploy that shield when you need to run.

3 for 1, Nice to end a game with, 4850cR in bonuses. Till then goodnight.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 12/01/2011

Morning again. Had some more interesting developments involving the whole killing Elites, no matter. Any-ways, moving back onto today.

More than a Handful - Kill 77 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking - 1750cR

Not really much more info I can give you on this one. Multi-Team it up though is what I'll say. No only will you get kills faster, you'll be helping out with a couple of other challenges.

... Got a Triple Double - Earn 3 Double Kills in the same match in Multiplayer Matchmaking - 1500cR

3 Doubles in a single game can be challenging. Timing and power weapons will come into it. Blue team on (Pinnacle? the one with the dish in the middle, Delta Halo from Halo 2) starts with the rocket behind them. That'll give you 4 Rockets, possibly 2 double kills per load. Multi-team will help once again, picking off 2 fighters to get the kills required. I don't suggest Rumble pit as much. Games can often be too short. Also it helps to go objective. When there's a place everyone is running to, it's easier to find them.

Oops! All Kills – Earn 7 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking – 777cR

Sort of an alternate route to the last one. Rather than stopping at the double kill, with this one, keep on going. Grab the sword/rockets/any power weapon and let loose with it. Multikills stack, remember that, a double is worth 1, a triple is worth 2.

On Tilt – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic or harder with the Tilt Skull on – 1500cR

Tilt makes enemy shields even more resilient to projectiles and personal health more resilient to Plasma. You will need to bring along a plasma weapon as well as a projectile weapon. Although with Winter contingency I wouldn't call that much of a problem. Just keep on running.

There we have it. Still can't access the site from work so, yeah. Back to work, then back to EVE Online.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 11/01/2011

Morning again. It appears that my intel was wrong yesterday. For killing Elites, it appears that the final mission has been disallowed. Tis a shame as that was one of my favorite missions for that challenge. Ah well, Long night of Solace it is then. Also, the weekly challenge has been fixed.

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 150 enemies in any game mode in Reach - 1500cR

150 enemies in any game mode means everything from custom, to matchmaking via campaign. So just enjoy the game.

Survivor – Earn 7 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game – 1200cR

If you can get a Sniperattack on Beachhead, you're set. Killing sprees at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 & 100 kills, plus the 3 Sniper ones and if needs be, 3 vehicular splatters. Total, 12 sprees possible.

Put Your Quarter Up – Complete 10 games in Multiplayer Matchmaking – 2000cR

Just enter a game of Multiplayer matchmaking and stay in it till the end. All you quitters out there should try staying. Who knows, if you're loosing, you might pull it back.

Close Talking – Earn 40 kills with close quarters combat in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1600cR

40 kills with your fists, shotgun, sword, or hammer. Get your Sprint out for quick attacks, of wait for them to hit you and armour lock to E.M.P. their shields. One fun thing to do is play possum. Go "AFK" or make it appear that you'r scoped and keep your eye on the motion tracker. When a red dot appears from behind, they're likely to want to assassinate you. As they're about to hit you, enter armour lock, and they've lost their shields. It's a fun tactic.

All very simple today. So have fun wit them.

Halo Reach Weekly Challenge 10/01/2011 Legendary Friends

Legendary Friends - Complete any Campaign mission on Legendary in co-op mode - 2500cR

Photobucket

This is apparently a weekly challenge. Not sure what the website is saying then. Anyway, as weekly challenges go, this is rather easy. There are no restrictions, not specific hoops to jump through. You and up to 3 of your friends or random people you meet must start a mission on Legendary and then finish it. You can die, you don't need any skulls. Personally, I'll be doing a level I haven't co-operatively completed on Legendary. You can do an easy one, or that, no difference.

Have fun with this guys.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 10/01/2011

Sorry for being a tad late. Computer problems and not mine this time. Anyway, once again we have a new weekly Challenge but more on that later. Starting the week with a very nice 8700 cR so let's go:

Blastin’ and Relaxin’ – Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 2000cR

Killing 180 enemies will come rather easily. You've got a bunch of enemies to kill in the other modes so it's best left till last. Finish it off with some custom Firefight.

A Friend in Need – Earn 10 assists in Firefight Matchmaking – 2000cR

Plasma Pistol the Elites and get a few shots on the other enemies. 2 Sniper shots will take off a Drop Ship turret, if you get the first one in, there's a quick assist.

Return of the Mack – Kill 50 Elites in Campaign today on Normal or harder – 3000cR

Play some Lone Wolf. Use the Turrets, the Rockets, Sniper, Laser & Plasma Pistol combo to rack up about 10-15 Elite kills every 5 mins. Easy Credits.

Headshot Honcho – Kill 9 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1700cR

9 in 1 game can be a bit troubling. SWAT & Snipers can be good but can still end up being short. Invasion with its 25 min game time (Max) and DMR & Needle Rifle spawns really help. Take your pick.

I'll be back later, with the weekly.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 09/01/2011

Last day for that weekly challenge. If you're still a few short, there's 1 here that may prove troublesome.

Shootin’ and Lootin’ – Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 2500 cR

250 enemies, in Firefight, Multiplayer, Campaign. All very basic.

Office of Not Dying – Complete ONI on Legendary without dying – 4000 cR

Now this is the tricky one to do, unless you have a couple of spare Spartans handy. Co-op this and just stay back, let your friends do all the work, when the area is clear, move on up. Can take some time to do but it is worth a very large amount of cR. What you want to do is use the target locator to take out both wraiths. Then leave it alone for a while. It'll get back one of its' Volleys. Move on up to the gun and once the Volley has come back, use it around the front of the building. Before you move on up, grab a Plasma Pistol. Against Elites, there's nothing better to use to remove shields. Then, move on up, behind the building. Run up, hit the switch and jump back down.

Now, drive back the way you came, past ONI base (Pick up the Target Locator). Head towards the radio outpost and once again, hit the area with a Volley of Artillery. Drive to the switch, hit it quickly, then drive back to the second one and hit that. Now, drive back to gate and drive past all the enemies. Speed will save you. Open the gate and jump in.

Move up slowly. Using cover and Plasma to take out the Elites. Once inside. Grenades & Shotguns will be useful against the Hunters. Take the lift up and slowly push on once again with a DMR & Plasma Pistol. Once you've reached the top, first priority is to get the Rocket launcher and take out the Elites.

After that, the Banshees will cause you no problems. You can even let Emile finish the mission.

J.H. Death Machine – Kill 20 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Grenade Launcher – 1500 cR
Heroic Holdout – Kill 50 enemies in Holdout in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000 cR

Going to combo these ones. Play Scoreattack and keep pressing none of the above until you get Holdout. Then select score attack. After that, go nuts with the grenade launcher.
