Halo Reach Daily Challenge 18/12/2010

Morning all. Today, lost of Snow :D. Also, Challenges so let's go.

Gunslinger – Kill 100 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1000 cR

Go into Multiplayer matchmaking and kill 100 enemies. Just decided to try re-phrasing it for those who didn't get it.

Demon – Kill 40 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking – 1200 cR

40 Elites isn't hard, what is hard is working out the fastest & best way t odo it. Firefight will give you a bunch of them but with 4 other people, what are the chances of getting most of them though. Overall, Sniper attack will give you between 4-12 Elites. Luck of the draw really.

Fourth Horseman – Earn 4 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1900 cR

Luck & Skill required. No good at being a good killer if there's no one else to kill. You need Chaos, you need Multi Team, you'll also need to find the luck you need to get all 4 multikills in 1 game.

Stronger, Harder – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Famine, Tough Luck and Thunderstorm on – 2750 cR

Any mission you want. A lack of ammo and the agility to dodge your grenades are pointless, when you don't fight back. Just run, I suggest winter Contingency as that'll be over in under 15 mins. Remember, Legendary A.I., Heroic everything else.

There we have it. On a side note, I managed to do Mostly at night in 32 mins. I have a walkthrough in the making and screen shots & a video to go with it. I just felt ill last night and wasn't up for it. So yeah, that'll go on the pile. Cya later.

Solo Legendary - Mostly at Night Walkthrough

Mission: Nightfall
Objective: Solo Completion without dying
Weapons of Choice: Sniper & Needle Rifle/DMR (For the most part)
Armour Ability: Active Camo

Photobucket
"I threw that"

This mission started off on a bad foot. In my attempts to be sneaky, I decided to go around assassinating the Elite up top, followed by the Grunts on the right who are on the ledge, before jumping down to assassinate the Elite. Jun, feeling a bit left out, decided his plan of action was to throw a grenade into the mix. There went my stealth. After killing all the remain enemies, grab the Camo before moving on.

Photobucket
"That's not the me you're looking for"

From your vantage point take out as many Elites as you can. Don't stay Invisible & scoped for too long. Take out one specific Elite, you could of kick the Nest of a bunch of Suicide Grunts. Not pretty. There is also an invisible Elite with a Focus Rifle, mix it up using both Hologram & Camo at the same time. This will enable you find enemies by tracing back the plasma while staying hidden. Once a large enough portion of enemies are removed it's time to move on.

Photobucket
"The Elite can still see me"

Move along the right hand side of the first area and jump into the building using the railing. This gives you cover and forces Jun to walk around the outside causing some damage to the remain enemies. Move on up towards the next staging area. When out, there will be an Elite Minor up top. Killing him will set off 1 or 2 Suicide Grunts so watch out. Remain hidden and stay back. Keep to the right side and up high, if you need you can retreat to from where you came. After killing all the enemies here, a Grunt & Jackal will move up, kill them and move on.

Photobucket
"A new star in the night"

As you reach the clearing, stay left and jump up on top of the rocks. From here you can get a good vantage point and the GĂșta can't reach you. Let the GĂșta do most of the damage as they will 99/100 times kill all the covenant in the area. The Covies may even bring one down with any luck. Small tip for dealing with them, 1 Plasma Grenade is all it takes to kill them. In this area there is a stach of Needle Rifles, Replace the pistol & move on.

Photobucket
"Long range protection"

When you reach the Marines protecting their equipment, I hate to say it but they're all going to die. To take on 3 waves of Covenant on Legendary & survive, you need much more than 3 marines. So to keep it short an sweet, you punch a hole in the covenants attack on the left hand side, kill a few Elites then run, up onto the ledge, past the bridge and off towards the beacon.

Photobucket
"Just a distraction"

When approaching the beacon, stay stealthy, take out as many of the enemy as you can without firing a shot. When it's finally a necessity to shoot, let Jun once again take the brunt. Stay hidden and don't engage an Elite in close combat unless it really is necessary. Try an blend in, go for the assassination if possible. Once Jun starts setting the explosive device, run back across the bridge. If you find ammo a bit short, keep running in the direction you can in on, there'll be a DMR. Take out the Hunters as your first target. If one of those Fuel Rod explosions hits Jun, he can be blasted of the edge. There goes Mr. Invincible. So once they're taken out you're mostly done as Jun will take out most of the others. Now for the final stretch.

Photobucket
"A little sooner would have been nice"

Take out the gunner on the Phantom as you enter the gate then you're free to take out the Grunts & Jackals with 1 less major problem. Once they've been taken out. Move on up and locate the first gun emplacement. Take out the grunt inside of it but leave it active. Grunts are drawn towards it and it's a good way to locate them. When you move up though, be sure to destroy it. If it becomes active again and you back pedal, you'll be dead before you realise it. Slowly move up and locate the next gun emplacement.

Photobucket
"All my health for nothing"

Do as you did with the last turret and keep pushing up. There'll be 3 Zealots and 2 Rangers will join the fight along the stone "Bridge". Keep pushing forwards while invisible to bring Jun up with you, then quickly fall back and let him take the brute force. While they're distracted take that moment to finish them off. Extra side note, if an elite is in the turret, if the turret blows up he will die. Very useful if a Spec-Ops Elite (4 Bullets to kill) gets in a damaged turret. Once the area is clear move up once again to the final stretch. There are a few Grunts and Jackals here and the last thing you want to do is die now, so be careful and activate the cutscene.

The accompanying video is here for download. I won't say follow it exactly as it won't always work. Just be careful and don't die. Have fun instead.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 17/12/2010

Little late today as I have more computer woes. So I'll keep this short & sweet.

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 150 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 1500 cR

You get this one, by doing the other challenges really.

Secondary Fire - Earn 25 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4000 cR

That's a lotta cR. But seriously, you know what to do, assist your team mate(s) by coordinating attacks, run in, get a few quicks hits in to wound them then run off as a distraction. Your team gets a kill, you get an assist.

Now I have a Machine Gun - Earn 100 kills with automatic weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2500 cR

Assault Rifle, Needle, Plasma Repeater. These are the weapons of choice for this challenge as they are the ones that are automatic weapons.

Mostly at Night - Complete Nightfall on Legendary without dying. - 5000 cR

There is a tonne of cR to be got today. This one will be tricky but I know now how to do it. A walk through will be written and up before I sleep tonight. Still though, as a quick heads up. Stay back, grab camo and let Jun do most of the heavy lifting. Pick up a needle rifle where possible. That 3 hit boom will be useful.

That's it for now. I'll get that walk through written up when I get home, 6 hours from now. So see you all in a few hours, bye.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 16/12/2010

Once again, good morning. Today is Thursday and as such there are a few Firefight Challenges here today. Slightly drawing you away from the weekly but I'll let you guys tackle what you want.

Gunslinger - Kill 75 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 1250 cR

As per usual we have one of these challenges. Go out and kill in the MP in whatever way you feel. Garb a few Multi-Kills while you're at it.

Covenant-cide - Kill 90 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. - 1000 cR

1 game of score attack although you may need 2 for the rest of the challenges. No real mess, no real fuss.

Blast Radius - Kill 20 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with grenades. - 1400 cR

Title tells it all. Get yourself on Score attack though. Sniperattack doesn't allow for grenade pick up.

That Pink Mist - Kill 40 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking. - 2000 cR

Nor does it allow for weapon pick up. So Gruntpocolypse will get you most of the way. May want to play some regular Scoreattack though.

Back to being busy. have fun guys.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 15/12/2010

Good 'morrow. Welcome back. Today I be very tired. Company party. Was fun if tiring. So now let's get on with this:

More than a Handful – Kill 125 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1250 cR

You know what to do, go on out there and get it, by getting the other challenges.

Pass the Rock – Earn 20 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2500 cR

Now, last time this challenge was out, there was a small "problem" each time you died in a matchmaking game, this challenge would disable itself till the end of the game. If it does this again this time, I don't know, may need to get someone to confirm that for me. If so, the best way would be to team up. Grab a plasma pistol in invasion (Provided you're Elite first) and use it to remove shields, letting your partner take them out. Keep yourself alive.

Weapon Swap – Earn 10 sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game on Heroic or harder – 1000 cR

Sprees can be tricky. The best thing to do in my opinion, is to get a Sniperattack on a level with vehicles. 15 Sniper kills & 15 Splatters = 6 Medals. Mix that in with 100 kills for another 5 killing spree medals and you've got a challenge.

Killing Spree – Earn a Killing Spree in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1500 cR

Stay out of the main action, help from afar, or Grab a Banshee/Scorpion/Wraith. These are the main ways to get a killing spree. Te ability to give out as much damage as you can while protecting yourself as much as possible. The Sword is another good way, provided you don't take on someone with an armour lock. It's quite fun taking someone out who as the sword with a quick jab.

So there we have it, Not overly challenging but not a cake walk. If someone could get back to me about Pass the Rock the would be fantastic. Till ten, or tomorrow, have fun.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 14/12/2010

Morning, back again. some good challenges today. 6000 cR to get in some challenges with nicely rounded cR amounts. So let's go.

Shootin' and Lootin - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 1000 cR

Kill 100 things for 1000 cR. That's 10 a pop. Doesn't matter where you kill them though you may want to combine it with the other challenges.

Gunslinger - Kill 40 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 1000 cR

Kill 40 of them in Matchmaking and you'll get a nice boost to S'n'L.

Who's the Big Winner? - Win 10 games in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 2000 cR

I'm sure you can get 40 kills within those 10 wins. Not much need for me today. These challenges are grindworthy but not overly challenging.

Just a Shower - Complete any Campaign mission on Normal or harder with Thunderstorm on. - 2000 cR

Not even this one is challenging. Thunderstorm ranks up the enemies so they're a little harder to contend with. Even with that though, on normal that doesn't make it as hard as heroic. Charge through any level guns blazing or Run it, it makes no difference. If you die, so what, back to the checkpoint. Defiantly worth the cR.

No real challenge today, it's just a case of having the time needed. I don't so I'll only be getting 2/3 tonight. Still a good result. So have fun and keep working towards that weekly challenge. That won't come easy.

Halo Reach Weekly Challenge 13/12/2010 Multiplicative

Multiplicative

Multiplicative - Earn 200 Multikills in multiplayer Matchmaking this week. - 5000 cR

200 multikills. That may not seem like many but I bet you don't get many Multikills per game. Multikills require you to kill 2 or more enemies with less than 4 seconds between each kill. Those 4 seconds can go quite quickly. I'm going to say this is a Multi-Team week. Best chance at getting Multikills. Remember to always look for two people fighting and to finish them off. A grenade, headshots, doesn't matter.

Also remember that they stack. A double kill is worth 1 Multi-Kill, a Triple kill is an extra one on top. It's going to be a long week, make sure you put the effort in early. If it comes down to the wire, you may miss your chance.

Definatly one you want to chip away at. So go forth and get those Multikills.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 13/12/2010

Good morning on this rather foggy Monday. Bit of a Slow day at work. Then again, first day back from the apprenticeship after 4 assignments, going to need a bit of time to readjust. Anyway, challenges are here, got a good start if a bit repetitive today.

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 150 enemies in any game mode in Reach. - 1500 cR

Kill 150 enemies in anyway you see fit or however they some during the other challenges.

Secondary Fire - Earn 25 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 4000 cR

We had this yesterday, so go a head and do whatever you did yesterday again today. You know, Shield popping and all that stuff.

Watersports - Kill 50 enemies on Waterfront on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking. - 600 cR

Stick yourself on Scoreattack and keep saying none of the above untill Waterfront pops up. Then, Scoreattack, Mythic Attack, Sniperattack or Gruntpocolypse. Take your pick and go kill.

Twin Trips - Earn 2 Triple Kills in the same match in multiplayer Matchmaking. - 500 cR

Seem a rather low amount for this challenge. Triple kills are rather hard to get. The ability to take on 3 full health enemies in Halo and beat them all, without the use of power weapons and/or grenades is tough. Even in multi Team you'll be hard pressed to get them all. However, living dead may just be your option. If 3 enemies rush you, you can quite easily take them out with well placed shotgun & pistol shots. You just need to hope you last long enough and don't get a bulltrue where the sword still kills you (annoying).

That's Monday's Dailies for you. Check back after lunch for the weekly challenge.

Sunday, December 12, 2010

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 12/12/2010

Sunday again. Last chance for the weekly challenge. Remember, the walkthrough with added video can be found in the side bar (also how to do Iron with friends)---->

Quick note, yesterdays side challenge... didn't go so well. I've got most of the stuff figured out but soloing is much harder than I was expecting.

The other challenges for today aren't any major problem. Secondary fire may take some time to get but other than that, all easy, we even have Iron with Friends back from Monday.

More than a Handful – Kill 125 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1250 cR

Go ahead and have fun in Multiplayer.

Secondary Fire – Earn 25 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking – 4000 cR

Use the plasma Pistols, Melee, and other shield poppers. Go ahead and do a bit more damage to them too but make sure someone else finishes them off. Always best done in a group of at least 2.

Iron With Friends – Complete a Campaign mission co-op on Heroic or harder with the Iron Skull on – 1750 cR

Back from Monday, this challenge is very easy. Heroic isn't a hard difficulty and there are 2 of you. There's no extra rules such as no dying or time limit so just take it carefully. Or run straight through, up to you.

Above the Neckline – Kill 5 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1250 cR

Half of Neuroscience, 5 headshots in 1 game. SWAT & Snipers are your main gametypes here. Certainly possible in other gametypes but these ones focus on the head.

That be all for this week. Till tomorrow, have fun.
