Halo Reach Daily Challenge 23/10/2010 UPDATE

So, I found out that doing the first level on Heroic with all those skulls on, not too hard. Had a bit of a problem with ammo for the DMR but the last bit with the Zealots, jump down and grab the shotgun and a plasma pistol.

Also, Multiteam Crazy King. 3 Killing Sprees, 2 Triple Kills, 9 Doubles and 44 Kills. That would of been most of the challenges for this past week that I didn't get. Well, Live and Learn. So yeah, If you want lots of Sprees and Multikills, do that and stay near but not in the hill.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 23/10/2010

Hello all, Welcome back. It's Saturday and I'm quite busy right now catching up on Tweets, Bungie Weekly Update, Rooster Teeth Shorts and Website upgrades. If you look down there in the bottom right (Possibly need to scroll down a bit), you'll see that there is the Challenge Thermometer. Keeping track of how close we are to the 117 Mill.

So Today has a couple of easy ones, and two slightly more problematic ones. Starting easy:

Where There's Smoke... - Kill 50 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. 500 cR

If you want to jump in to a Score Attack or Firefight, I don't think it'll really make much difference, with the 3 rounds in Firefight and the 100+ Enemies in Score Attack you're almost sure to get it in one sitting.

Getting harder:

Neuroscience - Kill 10 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. 1200 cR

Team Snipers or SWAT. Either one is really good for this as they are the games that have the 1 shot headshot kill. Personally, I'll be doing SWAT as I can't wield a sniper to save my life.

Now, this is the Tricky one:

Harder than Some - Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Thunderstorm, Famine, and Tilt on. 1000 cR

Thunderstorm increases the rank of all enemies, making them tougher and more intelligent.
Famine only gives you 50% ammo for dropped weapons.
Tilt increases resistance of enemy shield units to human weapons and body resistance to plasma fire.
So you NEED, Plasma for shield and UNSC for body but mix that in with the lack of ammo, you'll be swapping your plasma weapons after or even during every encounter. Only take weapons that can headshot, pistol or DRM. That's the best way of conserving ammo. It can also help to have someone tag along give one person plasma, the other bullets.

The last one, which is easier then you would think.

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 400 enemies in any game mode in Reach. 4000 cR

ANY game mode. Custom games, Firefight. Doesn't matter. Now you can play through the day if you want just playing the usual matchmaking (By the time you've completed the others you'll already have 100) or, if the time comes that you're running out of time. This little file here will help.

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=70482&player=KRZR24rat

It'll also get you the 1,000,000 Points in Firefight quickly (If you don't already have it).

So there you go, not impossible today and for 6700 cR, it's not too bad. Have fun guys.

Two Corpses In One Grave - Achievement

Hello. I told you there'd be an Achievement today and this is it. A rather simple one again but it's good because I can take some pretty pictures. Well, starting off, this mission requires you to blow up 2 vehicles in one use of the target locater. Now this doesn't NEED to be done on the Wraiths but it's much easier as ghosts tend to move about a lot. So here we go, set up normal ONI Swordbase with Cowbell on at Rally point Alpha. You spawn right in front of the Target Locator. Pick it up and an armour lock and head outside. I would say pick off the Grunts and Elite so you don't get distracted and then wait.

<span class=

They will gather by the little rocks and wait there (Provided you don't run head first towards them causing them to splatter you, may have done that once or twice) When they get there head to the left and jump on top of some rocks, for some reason (this worked for me, it may or may not for you), this happened to be the perfect place. They didn't move as I wasn't close enough and they didn't shoot me because I was too close.

<span class=
Aim for the middle of them, you want to make sure that you cover both of them. Once that's done, stay still and if they decide to shoot at you, armour lock and wait. Hopefully you'll be rewarded with the beautiful scene of this.

<span class=

Two blown up Wraiths with one volley. That's an achievement for you and as an added side bonus, you have 1 more use left over. Once again I'll leave the Rooster Teeth guys to give you a video. Have fun and grab that Gamerscore.

Halo Reach Weekly Challenge 18/10/2010 UPDATE

Hello all, welcome to a Friday update session. This time, it's about the weekly challenge. Now, as you know, this weeks Weekly Challenge is to get 30 kills in one match. Quite a high amount and I've been struggling myself and also been watching other people struggling (Some guy finished a match with 29 kills and I had 27). Now I stick with my previous comment of Big Team and Invasion (Slayer and Regular) but while playing some invasion, someone told me about another way of getting it.

Multi-Team.

After quickly explaining, I was told that Multi-Team Slayer is first to 50 kills. With 2 people on a team that's a lot of kill stealing from the other teams and a high enough kill count for it to not affect your partners score. So team up with a friend, take turns in assisting and with a little luck, you'll have 30 kills and 2000 cR.

Now, another way of doing it, slightly more challenging but still viable.

Living Dead

Zombies, If you're lucky enough to be human 3 times in a row (Generally quite the opposite for me) you need 10 kills per round. Not too bad but I'd try the other ways first.

So yeah, weekly challenge update thanks to you guys who help spread the secrets about. You've still got a few more days left. Don't waste them if you want a complete set of weekly challenges (I have so far, have you?)

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 22/10/2010

Hello, a bit of adjustment in the title but it's shorter and will now confuse Americans, double plus (Love you really).

Yesterday was a good day, all challenges got in 2 games. The minimal amount, quite proud of that, thank you very much sprint. So later on today I'll have a bit of a mess about and get some more achievement help going. Until then I have the daily updates AND a mini update about the weekly challenge (That'll come later on today).

More than a Handful - Kill 77 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking. 750 cR

I think we've had this one enough times to know what to do. Very simple provided you know how to fire a gun and by that I mean pull the trigger on a 360 controller.

Covenant-cide - Kill 90 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. 1000 cR

We had this one back a few days ago. The 18th if I'm correct. Once again, going to Score Attack and play one round. That should fix everything.

Office of Not Dying - Complete ONI on Legendary without dying. 4000 cR

So I wasn't bang on with my prediction of the Legendary challenge guide. Ah well. Like I said last time. Take a friend to do all the work. I even did this one with 2 controllers on the same console last time. so long as you your main out the way all should be good.

Fourth Horseman - Earn 5 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game. 1200 cR

Remember that challenge to get 4 Double kills in 1 game. That just got harder. Now, after talking with a few friends, we believe there are 2 ways to go about this. Either a massive game (Invasion Slayer/Big Team) filled with explosives and snipers, or, Rumble Pit/Multi Team. More enemies killing each other leaving you to become the janitor and just sweep up the kills they so wanted on each other.

So there we have it, 6950 cR, mostly coming from ONI. Aim for that one if you can, it's nice to get the big points. I'll be back later on with more help on achievements and I'll be back after lunch with more help on the Weekly Challenge.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 21-Oct-2010

Well Hello People. Today I'm in a good mood. My Spartan is looking good and these challenges are all nicely Firefight based. So let's jump straight in today.

Be Their Huckleberry - Kill 200 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the pistol. 3500 cR

So yesterdays 100 wasn't enough. now we have a nice 200 to kill. I'd stay on Gruntpocolypse and stay close to that ammo supply once again.

Blastin' and Relaxin' - Kill 90 enemies in any game mode in Reach. 1000 cR

If you're going for the one above, this one should come easily.

The house of Blue Leaves - Kill 88 enemies in a single Firefight Matchmaking game on Heroic. 1000 cR

If you're doing Gruntpocolypse Score Attack, you'll also get this one while going for the other two.

So look at that. So far, 2 Gruntpocolypse games and you've got yourself 5500 cR already in challenges, and a nice little extra sum from the games themselves. Want to round that to 6000 cR?

Above the Law - Complete a Round in Firefight Matchmaking without dying. 500 cR

If you can survive one of the Gruntpocolypse, you've got this, if not. Go into Firefight, they now have 3 rounds so stay back for one of them and grab that final challenge.

Look at that then. Less than 1 hour for game play (First time completion luck holding) 6000 cR plus a probable 2000 cR for the games themselves. That's a nice day.

Have a good day with that pistol and good luck with all those challenges. I'm going to get back to work now. Cheerio.

Updates - 20-Oct-2010

Hello.

I may have posted something about Achievement guides appearing every so often. While that is true, today I have been busy. Partly getting the final Achievement myself (Make It Rain - Purchased an item from the Armory that required the rank of Lt. Colonel) Giving myself a most sexy appearance (Got to love that robot arm) but also, acquiring a proper domain name. Not a blah.blogspot.com. So I am proud to announce that the web address is,

http://www.hattedhalofox.co.uk

I finally got it working tonight 100%. So now it looks more professional (as professional a Google blog can look anyway) and I'll soon be spicing up the look of the website too, I hope to get some more relevant artwork by a most talented artist soon.

So there we have it. I will put up an Achievement guide this Friday and the standard daily challenges will continue.

See you all in about 12 hours. Night.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 20-Oct-2010

Hello again, welcome back. A few updates before we continue into the challenges. First of all, Site news, I'm in the process of getting a real web address not a blogspot, that has however caused some problems and a change of name. Secondly, Halo Reach game changes. I've looked through some of the changes but I can not give a full report until I have personally tested the full extent of these changes. Last night I played 2 Firefight games one after the other. The first one was 1 round, the second one was 3 so I'm not sure how that's worked out. I'll update more tomorrow or later tonight when I get full info.

Anyway, back on track.

Today we have a mixed bunch of Challenges involving: Campaign, Multiplayer and Firefight.

Let's start with Campaign.

There are many like... - Kill 50 enemies with precision weapons in the Campaign today. 500 cR

Can't get much simpler. For the record, DMR, Needle Rifle, Sniper and (Apparently) the Focus Rifle are all "Precision Weapons" So take that into account when you choose the mission you would like, it also doesn't matter if you get a headshot or not. (ONI starts you with a DMR and a Sniper is a bit further ahead, or Nightfall gives you a sniper with extended ammo)

Firefight next

Be Their Huckleberry - Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the pistol. 1500 cR

While the pistol is good, Going against Gold Elites with it, not so good. Or shielded Brutes. So I'd stay, stick with Gruntpocolypse and keep near an ammo bank. Those bullets you have go down quickly.

Multiplayer for the final two.

A Great Friend - Earn 30 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking. 2000 cR

30 assists for a large bulk of cR. Stick with a friend and once again go for the shield drain. It's your best chance for this.

Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking 300 cR

Not much cR for this but you don't need to hold back. Go out there and kill as much as you can in any game type that you like. If your friend is still about, maybe it's time to return the favour from "A Great Friend".

So there we ave it, 4300 cR, more than we've had so far and that's a good thing. The more cR, the faster you'll get that arm piece you wanted, or Helmet. Have fun and buddy up.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 19-Oct-2010

Hello all, sorry I'm late. Had an off site Ketchup (Basically a catchup meeting that involves bacon). 3500 cR to get today. Not too bad. Once again we have the easy 2, the grinding 1 and the tricky 1.

Starting off easy.

Heroic Holdout – Kill 50 enemies on Holdout on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking – 600 cR

Go on Score Attack and keep voting no until you get Holdout, then, enter on whatever game mode you want. It's not fussy but personally, Gruntpocolypse.

One Spartan Army – Kill 150 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking – 1500 cR

That Gruntpocolypse should give you about 120 kills to which, I would suggest 1 round of Firefight. As always, it's quicker than Score Attack so it shouldn't take too long.

Time for the grind

Gunslinger – Kill 40 enemies in Multiplayer Matchmaking – 400 cR

Yeah, not worth much cR but the kills themselves should give you a boost. As always pick a game mode that works for you.

The Dream Shake – Earn 4 Double Kills in the same match in Multiplayer Matchmaking – 1000 cR

Now this one can be quite tricky. Getting a double kill isn't hard, getting 4 isn't hard. Finding the opportunity to get those 4 can be somewhat challenging. The best chances come from large explosives where there are groups of people. Vehicles are a good target. Specially the Human ones as they all can fit a minimum of 2 people. More so the Falcon & Warthog as they will more likely have 2 as that's the minimal requirement for them to have firepower. So I'd say, go into some large objective based maps. Invasion Spire or Big Team.

So there we have it, 2500 cR minimal for the easy/time consuming ones. Have a good day and I'll see you all tomorrow.

If they came to hear me beg - Achivement

New addition time. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I'll put up how to do one of the more complex achivements in Halo Reach. Today, I'll start off with ones that's easy to get, provided you know how and when.

Minor Spoilers

To start off, load up Pillar of Autumn, The last mission and right at the very start you are greeted by the edge of a rather steep cliff.

Photobucket

As you run off the cliff directly below you there will be 1 Elite and 3 Grunts. The Grunts are worthless, go ahead and ignore them.

Photobucket

The path the Elite usually take is one that takes him towards the burnt out vehical. Before you run and jump you have time for a quick peek over the edge to check where he is and to adjust your run angle.

Photobucket

Now you know the easy part, this is where it gets tricky. You need to run, far enough to be able to run and jump and get close to him. When you've gotten close enough horizontaly, you MUST stop the run ability, if it's on for too long you won't have the vertical hight, if you assasinate him it won't count. Before I knew that I spent ages attempting this and failing.

So yeah, one of the easiest achivements to get, provided you know all the hidden tricks. If you're still stuck, check out Rooster Teeths video guide for extra help. Well I hope that's helped someone out. Untill tomorrow, Have fun.

P.S. Can't be arsed with that get 10 Sprees.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 18-Oct-2010

Hello all, welcome back (The fact that I don't track any traffic makes it hard to gather how many of you there really are but hey, it's fun) Yesterday, I hope your challenges went better than mine, I was unable to the Assist challenge due to it disabling after a death and the Nightfall Legendary challenge (Tried and failed many a time). We're starting this week off with a good 3650 cR.

Shootin' and Lootin' - Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach. 1000 cR

It's back, same as always, get those 100 kills that go hand in hand with...

Covenant-cide - Kill 90 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. 1000 cR

Load up that Gruntocolypse in Score Attack and you've got 2000 cR out of todays lot. The firefight ones are always very simple.

Moving on to the trickier Multiplayer challenges.

Streaky Shooter - Earn 10 sprees in multiplayer Matchmaking. 1200 cR

Any of the sprees you want, Killing, Splatter, Sticky. Doesn't matter, so long as over the course of today you get them, all will be good.

Cook 'em, Clean 'em - Kill 10 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking while you're jet-packing. 450 cR

If you can sneak up on them and grenade them from above you're in a good position. See if you can get a map with some Rockets, usually gives you an instant kill.

Also, as it's Monday, there is the added bonus of the weekly challenge.

Like Mike -Finish a multiplayer matchmaking game with at least 30 kills. 2000 cR

Now I don't know about you, but I'm certainly not good enough to get 30 kills in any slayer game types. Objective is your best bet as you can over stretch that time limit and there is no kill limit. The longer the game the better. Possibly Invasion, a maximum 12 mins per round (With no sudden death). You've got the whole week for this one so all should be good.

As for today, they should all be possible, the only one that may be a problem is the Sprees one. So there we have it. ave fun out there and don't die too much. Those sprees require you to be alive generally.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 17-Oct-2010

Hello all, welcome to this glorious Sunday. A day to do nothing. Apart from get Halo Reach Challenges. Today, my suspicions are correct. They are slowly making us work through Legendary for cR. More importantly It's for 4000 cRr a pop. So today, it's Nightfall.

Mostly at Night – Complete Nightfall on Legendary without dying – 4000 cR

Like always, grab a partner, if it's online or same console, doesn't matter, let them do all the work. Hide back, shouldn't be too hard in this mission.

Textbook001 – Kill 25 enemies with Sniper Rifle headshots in Nightfall on Normal – 700 cR

Same mission, different difficulty, different goal. You've got a Sniper with massive amounts of ammo. Shouldn't be too hard.

More Than a Handful – Kill 77 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 750 cR

KILL, not much more I can say, just find that game mode you like.

Pass the Rock – Earn 20 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1000 cR

Partner up once again and pop those shields. You're not getting kills but in the end you're helping and getting a nice cR amount.

Today, 6450 cR. Not bad, I'd like a bit more on my weekends but, it's still a nice amount. Not much I can say. I'm quite tired and worn out so, yeah, have fun. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..
