Halo Reach Daily Challenge 19/02/2011

Weekend is here, time to lay back and enjoy yourself.

Shootin’ and Lootin’ – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1000cR

Just play the game however you want. Maybe some Firefight as to catch up on that weekly.

Now I have a Machine Gun – Earn 20 kills with automatic weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1000cR

Doesn't have to be done in 1 game. Needler & Assault Rifle & Plasma Repeater are 3 of the main weapons that you'll spawn with and these are the weapons that'll help you get this challenge quickly.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution – Earn 3 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000cR

Grenade Launchers, Concussion Rifles, Rockets & Fuel Rods are what you want. Invasion is a gamemode I would suggest. Spawning with 2 of those weapons and having the other 2 weapons on the map help. Only need 3 kills too. Not that many.

Who’s the Big Winner – Win 15 games in multiplayer Matchmaking – 3000cR

Time to win your games. Not really much I can do to help if I'm honest. Go to a gametype you're good at or enjoy and just play the hell out of it. If you like short games, Grifball. It in 90% of the time an All out winner.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 18/02/2011

Busy Busy Busy

Fire When Ready - Kill 50 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking - 1500cR

Join in some multiplayer and have some fun. If you want to get it quickly, jump in on some Grifball or Multiteam.

Sweep the Leg – Perform an Assassination in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000cR

Camo is useful for hiding with, Multiteam is good for chaos and hight is another good quality as they won't be looking up and behind too often. Sprint or Evade are also good if Camo isn't working out. The ability to quickly speed up and close the distance is good.

The Dream Shake – Earn 4 Double Kills in the same match in Multiplayer Matchmaking – 2000cR

Multiteam is good here. Find 2 people fighting and just kill them while they're weakened. Do that a few times and the challenge is yours. Alternatively, play some living Dead or Grifball. The easy kills with swarms of enemies can help you rack the kills quickly. Remember, it must be doubles though, Triples & Overs don't do anything.

Up Close and Personal – Kill 8 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1600cR

Grifball is swords & hammers, you don't get much close combat than that. The bomb also counts.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 17/02/2011

Thursday is Firefight day. Time to really get a foot up in the weekly challenge.

Blastin’ and Relaxin’ – Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1350cR

Killing 180 enemies, by the time you're done with the other challenges, this'll be done or very close to done. Though, the best thing to do it play Firefight till it's been completed.

That Pink Mist – Kill 100 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking – 1250cR

Get yourself in a Rocketfight/Sniperfight match, pick yourself up a nice little Needle firing weapon and just go nuts. The combo of the Jet pack & Needler is one that is extremely powerful, with the additional ammo recived (Unlimited) you'll have no problem getting this challenge in 2 games.

Flat Tire – Kill 10 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking – 1125cR

Get yourself on the maps that have vehicles. Holdout has a Banshee, Beachhead has Multiple Wraiths and Corvette has had its vehicle count slashed.

Killagruntjaro! – Earn 25 multikills in a Firefight Matchmaking game – 1500cR

You can either go solo with Gruntpocolypse, or you can go mental with a rocket launcher. I'lllet you pick your play style.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 16/02/2011

Light Fare – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1000cR

Starting off easy. Just play the game and go for other challenges. You still short? Jump into some Firefight. Shave some waves off the weekly.

A Simple Spree – Earn any spree in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000cR

A killing Spree is 10 kills, and Weapon, Splatter, Assist sprees are 5. It's really not that hard.

A Side of Huevos – Kill 60 enemies with Sniper Rifle headshots in Nightfall on Normal – 1500cR

This is an easier version of the weekly we had. The toughest one today, at the beginning, start sniping all you want, when reinforcements arrive, revert to saved. Keep doing that until you've got all your kills. If you end up getting a checkpoint, just keep going. There's a bunch of ammo lying about. Here's my basic run through of when it was a weekly. It's the same basics

Multiplier – Earn 2 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000cR

Grifball or Living Dead, oth games have enough time and enough easy to kill enemies. If you're a precision person, go for SWAT.

Back to work, far too busy today.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 15/02/2011

Well, I played a bit of Rocketfight. Those games go by in about 10 mins with 16 rounds (Added bonus round) so I got to 54 last night. Only took me an hour. So there's your best bet for the weekly. Remember though, Thursday is generally the Firefight day, so leave a bit for that. However, moving on to today, a general case of kill "X" amount of enemy "Y" today, or in one case, in style of "Z". I hope you understood that better than I did.

Blastin’ and Relaxin’ – Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1350cR

The basics here. Go out and get the other challenges. Once you've done them, if you still don't have these, go and do whatever you want. Provided it involves killing something.

Demon – Kill 30 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking – 1200cR

Have fun in your Rocketfight. Elites will appear rather frequently. Gauge how many you get per Set. If you're having a bit of trouble in a group, move on to Scoreattack. Sniperattack will give you 4-12 Elites at the end, and regular Scoreattack gives you 6 golden Elites. Play around a bit.

Cannon Fodder – Kill 75 infantry-class foes in the Campaign today – 1100cR

Find a Grunt and kill him. That's more or less the whole challenge in a nutshell. The last part of Winter Contingency, Exodus is exclusively Grunts for the first part (Bar 2 Jackals). If you know of any other Grunt Hot Spots, play them, revert to saved, repeat.

Cook ‘em, Clean ‘em! – Kill 20 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking while you’re jet-packing – 2400cR

You know the catch by now. You must be Jet Packing as you get the kill. Stick them, Jet pack. Jet Pack melee. Rocket Jet Pack. All good combos. Power Weapons aren't a must but they help greatly.

There we go, I'll be listening to the Red vs Blue & Call of Duty Zombies soundtracks till I get my Halo collections.

Defiant Map Pack

I did say if I heard any new info I'd let you know.

Here is the trailer for the Defiant Map Pack.

Has a nice little narration and the maps themselves. Wow.

Unearthed appears to be a new Firefight map

Condemned looks set to have some of the greatest visuals for any map (Look at the fight outside). Set in a space station.

Highlands looks set to be another massive Multiplayer map, aerial combat and a huge ship glassing the planet not to far away.

Add some awesome Halo Music and you get a trailer that's amazing and maps that look up to the same level. We'll just have to wait a bit longer to see if they're worth it and if there are any achievements attached (I know I'll buy the pack).

March 2011 Release. Music from the final moments of Reach and Halo Legends if I'm correct.

Update: 150 Gamerscore is attached to this set. More info is here (From Major Nelson)

http://majornelson.com/archive/2011/02/14/announcing-the-halo-reach-defiant-map-pack.aspx

Condemned: Condemned takes place aboard Orbital Station Gamma, a massive space station high in orbit above the planet Reach. Prior to the Covenant’s overwhelming invasion, Orbital Station Gamma provided long range communications for UNSC fleets and a vital lifeline between Reach and Earth. During the Battle of Reach, the station suffered terrible punishment at the hands of the Covenant but a few fortified sections remain intact, fully pressurized, and ready for combat. Condemned supports 6 – 12 players in a variety of action-packed game types, including Team Slayer, Team Objective and Free for All.

Highlands: Highlands takes place on the top-secret Military Wilderness Training Preserve on Reach. The Preserve is a large, wooded area where Spartan super-soldiers trained long before the war with the Covenant began. During the Battle of Reach, the Preserve was the site of key battles between the alien invaders and a group of Spartans who used their familiarity with these UNSC training grounds to significant tactical advantage…but not everyone who enters these woods makes it out alive. Highlands expands the fight with massive-scale engagements for 8 – 16 players in Big Team Battle, Team Slayer and Team Objective.

Unearthed
Unearthed takes the battle for Reach to a large Titanium mine and refinery located in the Viery civilian sector of the planet. This particular mine was built to take advantage of the exposed titanium inside a massive meteor crater. The titanium produced here is used in much of the UNSC hardware, from the chassis of the Warthog to the meters-thick armor plating of capital ships like the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. While this facility was quickly abandoned when the Covenant arrived on Reach, it still has significant tactical (and economic) value and it won’t be long before both humans and Covenant return to battle for control. Unearthed allows up to 4 players to launch a counterassault against the Covenant in Firefight and Firefight modes such as Generator Defense.

Created in partnership with Certain Affinity, the Defiant Map Pack will be available this March on Xbox LIVE for 800 Microsoft points, and will include all new Achievements worth a total of 150 Gamerscore.

Halo Reach Weekly Challenge 14/02/2010 Ride the Wave

Ride the Wave

Complete 200 Waves in Firefight Matchmaking

15000cR

Mini Update: Rocketattack. I tried it out and it's stupid quick. Play that as much as you can.

Right, what you want to do here, is play Firefight or Scoreattack. That's it really. The quickest way I can think of is Gruntpocolypse. I will play about a bit tonight in a few other game modes to see if any of the other ones provided more waves for your time. Until then though, just play some Firefight. If you can play just 2 games of Firefight though, that'll be 30 waves. 30 * 7 = 210. So overall it's not that hard. (Provided you reach the end and on the plus, it's another 3000cR ish per game).

So that's it. Have fun.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 14/02/2011

Forget your lovey dovey stuff, it's time to destroy your fellow man for points. Note to self, play more Firefight. I need to try out the new modes. they might come in handy for challenges (They certainly will for the weekly)

Shootin’ and Lootin’ – Kill 250 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 2500cR

Just go and play the game you love. Firefight, Campaign, Multiplayer, doesn't make a difference to this challenge. Leave it till the end however, it's often nearly done by the time some challenges are done.

That Pink Mist – Kill 70 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000cR

If you play Sniperfight or Rocketfight you'll have an infinite source of ammo. Use that to your advantage and find a Needle weapon and have fun blowing everything you can, up.

You Want This, Don’t You? – Earn 12 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1500cR

So the 500 for last weeks challenge and the 100 on Sunday weren't enough. Fair enough. This time you have to get them all in one game. SWAT & Snipers are good but you may want to throw in a gametype with a bit more time behind it rather than Slayer. Possibly try one of the new SWAT gametypes. SWAT Plots & SWATpile generally last a good 10 mins.

Vengeance Found – Earn your ‘Revenge’ in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1150cR

Find that person who killed you and kill him back. The whole Eye for an Eye making the whole world blind thing doesn't fully apply when you can respawn. So go nuts. Double Team in Arena works well as you have a 50/50 chance.

That's it. I'm going to grab some Lunch in a little while and I'll finish updating today with the weekly.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 13/02/2011

J.H. Death Machine – Kill 70 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Grenade launcher – 2000cR

The only thing you can really do is pick the Grenade launcher as your starting weapon and fire away. Try to bounce it off the ground near a group of enemies. Most of them don't need a direct hit (Brutes are 50/50 but Elites will be a bugger. If you can get the 70 before reaching that wave it would be easier)

…And Recreation – Kill 100 enemies on Beachhead on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000cR

Reconstruction, Recreation, Revelation. Bonus points if you get that. Try and combine the Grenade Launcher challenge with this one. Killing 100 enemies on a map isn't hard but you have to watch out for any fail grenades the enemy throws. Keep selecting none of the above in Scoreattack till you get this.

Came From Behind – Perform 3 Assassinations in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1500cR

Things you want are the high ground and either Sprint, Evade or Active Camo. Sprint & Evade can give you the speed boost needed and active camo is good for just hiding round a corner, waiting.

Close Talking – Earn 40 kills with close quarters combat in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1600cR

Shotguns are good, but so are Hammers, Swords and your own fist. Grifball it up and you'll be done in no time.
