Halo Reach Daily Challenge 12/02/2011

It was the Winter… – Complete Winter Contingency on Legendary without dying – 5000 cR

Very nice, a Legendary no death, on the level that is the easiest to do. This level is 90% running. When you see the enemies for the first time, run either to the far right or head under the building to the far left. Keep running along the boarder until you reach the final area of that section with the Elites. On the right hand side you can continue to walk along the boarder as it had a little ramp to it, for the left, you must get under the little piece of cover. Then you must run over the rocks and into the Pickup. Drive along the right hand side to trigger the sites and then once you reach the bottom. Keep in the car and keep splattering. Once in the Facility, wipe out the first wave and just hide in the little room. Once there, pop out occasionally and take a few pot shots. Then once inside, grab a Plasma Pistol from a Grunt and slowly make your way forward. Use the explosives on the wall and grenades to wipe out the Grunts & Elites. Here's the Video Tutorial, this run through was also run through with Thunderstorm, Mythic & Tilt on.

Play and win. Try to not pick Multi-Team or Invasion or any other gametype that can end in a draw. You need to win outright.

This is My Rifle… – Earn 100 kills with precision weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1500 cR

Get yourself into some SWAT & Snipers and have fun killing. This'll help with the weekly nicely.

Cook ‘em, Clean ‘em! – Kill 20 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking while you’re jet-packing – 2400 cR

You must be holding the equipment button as you get the kill. Grenades, Rockets, Beat Downs,, all good options.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 11/02/2011

Hello again. Once again, I'm in high demand on Friday, would be nice if my work was spread out a bit more. It's all matchmaking so grab your Rifles and pull that trigger.

Helping Hand - Earn 10 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking - 1600cR

Starting off with assists, you know how it works, do 40% damage and let someone else grab the kill. Plasma Pistol, melee, Sniper Body shots, these are the things that'll give do enough damage, just make sure someone else has you covered to finish them off. Gametype doesn't matter as it can be done over the course of the day.

Multiplier - Earn 5 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 1200cR

Grifball, Living Dead and Multi-team are what you want here. Fast Paced gametypes with lots of carnage and generally weak enemies. Just keep your head up and play it smart.

A Solid Outing - Earn at least 15 kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 3000cR

Multi-Team & Grifball are once again the gameypes of choice for the reasons stated above. Living Dead is doable, but it would be a fair bit harder. Both Grifball & Multi-team both have the carnage to get 40 kills a game (Not so much in Slayer though) so 15 would be little challenge.

The Love of the Game - Complete 20 games in multiplayer Matchmaking - 2500cR

Bungie are certainly getting us into the feel of finishing our games. A lot of these challenges recently. So yeah, not that hard to do, just play till the end. Once again, Grifball & Living Dead are the quick gametypes, although you'll want to play a few things to get that weekly rising.

That's it, I'm going to finish some work here so I can get to the all you can eat Chinese buffet early. Cya.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 10/02/2011

First off, some rather interesting news. The possibility of a new map pack, possibly called "Defiant Map Pack". Screens have recently been leaked by http://www.halodestiny.net A French Halo fansite. Maps appear to be called "Condemned, Unearthed and Highlands". My personal favourite shot is this one. As the maps are Campaign linked, I'm assuming it's towards the end.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/59332597@N03/

Here are the rest of the images. Grab a look before they go. If I hear any more info, I'll be sure to update. Remember, these aren't set in stone but with Bungie & Microsoft asking for them to be removed so quickly, leaves you to ponder.

Now, for the challenges. We're halfway through the week so I'd suggest start getting those Precision Kills if you can, though, it being Firefight Thursday, not much help there:

One Spartan Army - Kill 400 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking - 2000cR

Basic start to today, go out and play some Firefight or Scoreattack. No problem, no Specifics, just go for the other challenges and get this one when it comes. Gruntpocolypse always goes quickly though.

Killagruntjaro! - Earn 35 multikills in a Firefight Matchmaking game - 3500cR

Grunts are the easiest way to get these. Just string together a bunch of headshots or explosions. Corvette with its monster closets are nice for Grenades and the predictable route and explosive barrels add for extra points.

The T.G. Opposition - Kill 20 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Shotgun - 1300cR

The Shotgun is best used against the Grunts & Brutes. Wait in a relatively confined space and let them come to you. Once they're close enough, fire away until dead. Jackals can be tricky due to the shield and Skirmishers are easy to dispatch when they get close but often spend a lot of time jumping about outside your range (You do no want to run out into an open area, they will pick you off unless you get them first)

Flat Tire - Kill 10 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking - 1500cR

You need a big map where vehicles arrive, I believe that will be only Firefight not Scoreattack too. Beachhead will have a few Wraiths, Corvette will get 1 or 2, as for other maps, not to sure about. Explosives are good, Sprint or Jet pack if you want to Hijack them. Try and get someone else to play dummy.

That's it, I'll update with any more news on the map pack if I hear any, till then, have fun.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 09/02/2011

Hello again. Been very busy so I'll be quick with these.

Gunslinger – Kill 100 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2500 cR

Starting off with the basics. Kill 100 enemies in Multiplayer matchmaking. Nothing fancy, just go in, play any gametype you like. Aim for other challenges first and then go for this one as some of the others will contribute.

House of Pain – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Mythic, Tilt and Thunderstorm on – 2500 cR

Double Health & Shields, More resilience to Bullets on shields and plasma on skin. Plus a rank (and AI upgrade) once again, head on combat, not a good option. The basic tactic is to Splatter, and run. Don't engage in combat unless you have to. Stick to the right, all the way through the map till you get to the Marines, then hold up high and pick of the grunts with a pistol. Finish the Elites with your Vehicle. Once in the facility you'll need to let Jorge do most of the heavy lifting and you'll need a plasma pistol if you ever want to get through the Elites shields.

http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=10813665&player=Shadow5talker04

Here's an old run through with the basics. We had Iron & Black Eye on though so you'll need to make a few adjustments.

Survivor – Earn 9 Sprees in a Firefight Matchmaking game – 1500 cR

Now, Classic Firefight might be better here. More time to kill things with. Switch around weapons, if possible get a map with vehicles and pick up as many sticky grenades as possible. It's still possible on solo, although there may be more problems. Killing Sprees for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 & 100 are possible solo and if you get sniper attack, that's 3 more on top. Beachhead also has a Ghost & Warthog for splatter so that's another 3 on top. 12 possible Sprees there.

Above the Neckline – Kill 7 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000 cR

SWAT & Snipers are the good ones here, games that focus on the precision weapons also help to the weekly challenge. If you need a little more time go out and try Invasion.

That's all today, have fun with these.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 08/02/2011

Hope you chipped away at some of that weekly challenge, it may take a while. Played mostly SWAT last night to get it. Took me about an hour to get 75 kills (Some people decided it would be fun to play SWAT Magnums) Grifball is back, shame it's not much help on the weekly. Going to attempt to work these challenges into the weekly if I can.

Fire When Ready - Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking - 1000cR

Start up some multiplayer matchmaking in any gametype you like. Then you go round killing the other people in the game (Provided they're your enemies). Grifball & Multi-team will do you well here if you're looking for speed. SWAT is also, not to bad. Games don't last that long and you can roughly get 10-20 kills a game, most of which will contribute to the weekly.

A Great Friend - Earn 15 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking - 2000cR

Grab a Plasma Pistol in invasion and let loose. Team up with your partner and let them know who to hit. If it turns out that you can't get a Plasma Pistol, don't forget the usefulness of your own fist. Hit them and either run away or armour lock. Let your friend do the rest. Secondary way, play some team snipers and go for the body shot, one the shields and part of their health has gone, it's easy pickings for your friend, if not, you get one more to the weekly.

Throwing Fireballs - Kill 7 enemies with grenades in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 1200cR

Seven can be a fairly large amount for a single game. Once again it'll be a bit of luck and a bit of 'nade spam. Playing in a game where you have enough time, Invasion or other multi-round objective games give you both locations where the enemies will be and a few extra rounds to try again.

Put Your Quarter Up - Complete 10 games in multiplayer Matchmaking - 2000cR

Like the weekly just been, you don't need to win the games, just finish. Play what you like, it doesn't matter. Just please don't AFK. I had enough of that last week in Living Dead. Put some games towards the weekly and other towards fun (Unless they both happen to mix. I'll definably be putting in some Grifball tonight.

That's it, for now. All multiplayer today so you out into Halo Reach and have fun.

Halo Reach Weekly Challenge 07/02/2010 Camp Froman, Indeed

Camp Froman, Indeed - Earn 500 kills with Precision weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking - 11000 cR

Named after a little area next to a windmill. 500 kills, I'm not too sure if this is too much or not enough. I'm a Punching man, so Precision weapons, although I can use them, I don't as much as I should. Precision Weapons count as, Focus Rifle, Needle Rifle, Sniper & DMR, so instantly Snipers & SWAT spring to mind. Games are somewhat quick and are 90% the weapons you need. You can also try Invasion, that'll give you Precision weapons on the ground from Phase 1 and in your loadout from Phase 2. The game times are long which gives you enough time to get a few nice kills.

Quite a few ways to get this challenge, so pick your favourite and go for it.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 07/02/2011

Back for another week. After barely catching the weekly yesterday, I think I'll be playing a bit more Reach so I can level out the weekly. First though, the daily challenges.

Shootin’ and Lootin’ – Kill 100 enemies in any game mode in Reach – 1000 cR

Starting off the week with a nice simple one. Kill 100 enemies however you want. Campaign, Firefight or Multiplayer. Custom or Matchmade, no difference to this challenge. One of those challenges you want to leave till the end so the others contribute towards it.

A Satisfied Thirst – Kill 100 Grunts in Firefight Matchmaking – 1000 cR

Set yourself up a Gruntpocolypse. 120 Grunts to kill with your DMR & Pistol. Map doesn't matter so go and play what you enjoy.

Triple Thrill – Earn any 3 Sprees in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 2000 cR

I'm going to say back to Living Dead with this. Shotgun Spree, Zombie Killing Spree and Killing sprees all come easily. Grab a few of them and you're done.

Not as Clumsy or Random… – Earn 5 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000 cR

SWAT, Snipers, Invasion. All give you nice Precision Weapons to Spawn with and you should have enough time to get 5 kills with them. They don't need to be headshots, although they would help.

That's it for this week. Enjoy playing.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 06/02/2011

Last Day for the weekly. Keep the games coming guys. I'm out for most of today so tonight will be a bit of a mad rush.

Fire When Ready – Kill 50 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1500cR

Starting off nice and simple. Killing 50 enemies over the course of a day, not challenging, not really that time consuming either depending on the game mode. Multi-Team is good if you want to blast through them, otherwise, take it slow.

Leadership Element – Kill 30 enemy leaders in the Campaign today – 1200cR

Killing Leaders is, in most cases, killing the Elites. Look for a large selection of Elites (That one part in Winter Contingency before the trucks or Long Night of Solace) and then kill them and revert to saved. Repeat a few times and you'll have all the kills within a few minutes.

Blast Radius – Kill 20 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with grenades – 1400cR

Any Challenges that are Firefight & Explosive based are best done on Corvette. The doors where the enemies spawn group them all together. Lob in a couple of Grenades into 2 doors and you'll get a good 7-8 kills. Run around a lot and pick up Plasma Grenades when you see them. Gruntpocolypse rarely has any shortage of them.

Streaky Shooter – Earn 5 sprees in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1500cR

This doesn't appear to be in one game so you can spread this out nicely. I would say Living Dead can be good. You can get a Killing Spree, Shotgun Spree and a Zombie Killing spree, all very easily. Keep it going up to 10 kills (5 min with the Shotgun) and you'll have 5 Sprees right there, in 1 game. There are many others you can get though, Splatter, Laser, Sticky, Sword, Hammer, Sniper. Find a weapon you like and be careful, if you're overly careful, possibly even a Spawn Spree or Unlucky with an Assist Spree.
