Halo Reach Daily Challenge 05/02/2011

Weekend is here. The final stretch for the weekly challenge. I myself am a fair bit behind so I'll be playing a lot today.

Fortified Court – Kill 1000 enemies on Courtyard in Firefight Matchmaking – 3500 cR

Certainly very possible. A very high kill count though. Would require a lot of time in score attack so you could keep switching through the maps till you find courtyard. ~Once you've found it, pick your gymetype and go out and kill. I'd say Gruntpocolypse takes the shortest time but you may have your own strategies. You do what works.

Three Dog Fight – Earn a Triple Kill in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1000 cR

You want carnage, you want Multi-team or Living Dead. If you can get a bunch of zombies to charge you, take them out with your shotgun. If you stay by yourself in a fairly defendable area, they'll see you as the easy target. As for Multi-Team. Just find a group of fighters ((preferably an objective game) and kill them all as they gravitate to the area of combat.

Showtime – Earn 5 assists in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000 cR

Grab a Plasma Pistol, Sniper or any other Shield removing weapons, Grab a Friend and point out where you're firing. If you take down a shield and let your friend finifh the fight, you'll grab one assist. Invasion has the long time required and Multi-Team has also worked out rather well for me too.

Up Close and Personal – Kill 5 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000 cR

Hammers, Swords, Shotguns and your own fist are the weapons you need. Invasion works well with the final stages. Living dead would work too, Swords & Shotguns.

And that's today. Have fun with those challenges, I'm off to play more Living Dead.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 04/02/2011

Sitting ere, listening to OCRemix tracks of Outrun. Very nice indeed. Should be doing work as I've got a lot to do, though some of it can be put to one side for the moment.

Little pointer on the weekly, I've found that Living Dead (AKA Zombies) is a nice quick gametype to help with the weekly.

Storm's Comin' - Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic or harder with Mythic and Thunderstorm on - 2750cR

This is a very strong storm I will say. If you're looking for a tough fight, you're not prepared for this. Mythic will double the amount of Shield & Health the enemies have, mix that in with Thunderstorm and the enemies are ranked up, making them stronger and more advance (In t he AI department anyway). Most Grunts will have masks so no 1 shot kills. Elites will either be Zealot or Spec-Ops, they take 3 Sniper Shots without Mythic to kill. So Assassinations, Splatters and Plasma Pistols are your friends here. Play it quick and run through either Winter Contingency or Nightfall.

Headshot Honcho - Kill 9 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 1700cR

9 headshots in one game is a nice time to play some Invasion (Second phase loadouts), SWAT or Snipers. These games give you the time required to get the kills required.

Sticky Icky Icky - Earn 5 sticky grenade Kills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 1625cR

5 Plasma sticks can be challenging. Once again Invasion is good due to the Elites spawning with Plasmas and Elite Slayer for the exact same reason.

Who's the Big Winner? - Win 10 games in multiplayer Matchmaking - 2000cR

Winning 10 games isn't hard, just another time consumer. Play what you like, what you enjoy, or what your team-mates are good at. Not much else to say for this one.

A nice set here that gives a nice amount of cR without drawing you too far away from the weekly. Have fun with these ones guys and have a Good Year of the Rabbit.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 03/02/2011

Firstly, Welcome. Secondly, Grifball has gone D:

This does put a bit of a strain on the weekly and any multikill challenges. Untill the 8th of Febuary as this is when it will be coming back after a few weeks.

http://www.grifballhub.com/grifball-returns-february-8th/

So until then, play fast for the weekly.

Heroic Killagruntjaro! – Earn 10 multikills in a Firefight Matchmaking game on Heroic or harder – 1000 cR

10 Multikills on Grunts takes not more that a couple of mins. Take down 2 grunts quickly in Gruntpocolypse and maybe a few more afterwards. Grenades also help for keeping the combo alive.

That Pink Mist – Kill 20 enemies with a Supercombine from the Needler or Needle Rifle in Firefight Matchmaking – 1650 cR

Try and get into a Sniperattack, Rocketattack or any other variation where you can pick up weapons and have unlimited ammo. Find yourself a Needle Rife or Needler and let loose. 20 kills isn't that many and will work wonders on Brutes (Other Enemies can sometimes be accidentally headshotted half way through with the Rifle)

Heroic Holdout – Kill 100 enemies on Holdout on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking – 2000 cR

Combine the Multikill challenge with this one. Get your Gruntpocolypse on Holdout by continuing to vote for none of the above till the Holdout map is selectable. Then just go out and kill 100 of the little buggers.

Flat Tire – Kill 10 enemy vehicles in Firefight Matchmaking – 1500 cR

Somewhat troubling, you need to get to the vehicle first before your allies. Beachhead often has a bunch of Wraiths for you to kill so have fun with those, Corvette will also drop a wraith every so often. It's just a case of having, the speed to get there and the power to destroy it. Keep a few Rockets, Grenades and a fist handy.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 02/02/2011

Morning and all that Jazz. Today I suggest listening to Jazz by the way. No real reason why. I've been listening to it this morning and it's very nice. Anyway, moving on, the DNS at work is a bit buggered so once again, I cant access my site, only the editing so sorry if it looks a bit off.

Huck It, Luck It – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Cloud, Tough Luck and Catch on – 2500 cR

This challenge is very similar to the Campaign challenge yesterday. Play through a level with 3 Skulls on. Cloud will strip you of your Motion Detector, Catch with cause AI (Both friendly and enemy) to lob more grenades and Tough Luck will cause the AI to Dodge more Grenades. So just keep your eyes peeled and leg it through... Winter Contingency. I'd also Like to point out that Nightfall is also another level you can speed run, It's not as straight forward but it can be quicker if you do it right.

A Walk in the… – Kill 100 enemies on Beachhead in Firefight Matchmaking – 1500 cR

Play Scoreattack (Found in the Co-op playlist) and keep saying none of the above till you find this map, then pick a gametype that you like, Snipers, Gruntpocolypse or if you're feeling luck (Or you're good) Mythic attack.

You Want This, Don’t You? – Earn 14 kills with precision weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1400 cR

14 Kills in a single game with a precision weapon (Sniper, Focus Rifle, DMR & Needle Rifle) SWAT & Snipers can help here although you'll still be challenged to get all those kills before the end of the game. Invasion is the other gametype I suggest, this gives you a fair amount of time (Provided you push up enough and possibly let them through a bit) and spawns you with the weapons needed from the 2nd phase.

Go Right Ahead Folks – Earn a First Strike in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1250 cR

Grifball is what I'm going to say here. The game is quick and there are many rounds (Minimal of 3 providing the whole team doesn't up sticks) so as long as you play it right and time it correctly with the correct distance you can get your first strike, if not, learn and try again.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 01/02/2011

We're already a month in to the new year. It seems long although I can't remember most of it. Oh well.

Harder Than Some – Complete a Campaign mission on Heroic with Thunderstorm, Famine and Tilt on – 2500cR

You know the strategy by now. You put it on Winter Contingency with all the skulls and then you just run. The only part where you personally need to fight is in the final stretch (Jorge is a good helper but not brilliant by himself. All the enemies (Bar 2) are Grunts & Jackals. So Grenades and a DMR are perfect weapons. Grab a Plasma Pistol for the final Elites and headshot while their shields are down.

Hyper Lethal Vector – Kill 200 enemies with headshots in Firefight Matchmaking – 3500cR

Gruntpocolypse is perfect. Grunts go down in 1 Headshot (Unless they have a mask in which it's 2) and they spawn you with a DMR & Pistol, both weapons capable of Headshots.

Un, Deux, Trois – Win 3 games in multiplayer Matchmaking – 1300cR

Play gametypes you're good at/enjoy and win them. Can't really help out here but winning 3 games isn't too hard. Find a good team and let them carry you.

Cook ‘em, Clean ‘em! – Kill 10 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking while you’re jet-packing – 1500cR

Grab some explosives and 1 hit killers. Plasma Grenades are perfect for this. (Remember, you must be jet packing as you get the kill, no point flying then falling). So if you can melee Jet pack and get the kill, that counts.

That be it for today. See you tomorrows.

Halo Reach Weekly Challenge 31/01/2011 That's Dedication, Holmes

That's Dedication, Holmes - Complete 77 games in multiplayer Matchmaking this week - 11000cR

Complete 77 games, to do this, all you have to do is play Halo Reach Multiplayer matchmaking online. It's not challenging, it's just rewarding. 11 games a day will do nicely, Grifball is quick, Multi-team slayer is quick, Invasion is Long. Play what you like, just remember to not quit. Even if you're loosing, just in general, even once you've got the challenge.

So yeah, not much challenge, just time.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 31/01/2011

Back on time (Mostly) Guess being up before the challenges come out helps that. As usual, Daily first, Weekly later. All challenges today must be completed in a single game (That's each one individually, not all of them)

Fourth Horseman - Earn 6 multikills in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 1200cR

Earning 6 Multikills isn't that hard with the added Grifball gametype. Doubles, Triples and Overkills come fast and quick in this gametype. If you're lucky you could get them all in 1 go as, remember, they stack. Double = 1, Triple = +1, Over = +1 Etc. If you're not the Grifball type, Multi-Team has all the chaotic needs to get the Multikills. Just look for a pair of fighters. Must be done in one game.

No 'I' in Team - Earn 6 assists in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 1200cR

Assists, this is another one that's nicely suited for Invasion playing. Plasma Pistols & Melee into Armour Locks are good here. Once again, go around with a friend/partner you can talk to. This way you'll both know where to look and fire. So pop those shields and get those assists.

T-Hug It Out - Kill 15 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 3000cR

A few ways of going about with this. You can either, grab the shotgun/sword in a game of invasion. Enjoy the close combat carnage of a Multi-Team, or swing your Hammers & Swords in a game of Grifball. Provided your kills are with your Fist, Swords, Hammers or Shotguns, you're set. A Plasma Pistol comes in handy for the 1 hit combo. This is the big cR for today.

Explosive Ordnance Distribution - Earn 5 kills with ordnance weapons in a multiplayer Matchmaking game - 1000cR

Ordinance weapons are Heavy weapons. Had this conversation last time there was this challenge. So Rockets, Fuel Rods, Grenade Launcher, Concussion Rifle and possibly the Spartan Laser & Plasma Launcher are the weapons you want. I would suggest invasion. This way, the map spawns a Rocket Launcher or two in the second phase (Also Plasma Launchers on Boneyard and a Fuel Rod by the Banshee Spawn on Spire) and you can also spawn with Grenade Launchers and Concussion Rifles in the third phase. The only challenge will be getting all 5 in one game.

Feels good to be back on time. Enjoying it more. Stay tuned for that weekly.

Halo Reach Daily Challenge 30/01/2011

Golden Opportunity – Find and kill the Gold Ranger-class Elite in any Campaign mission on Heroic or hard – 1000 cR

The first thing to do is know of some easy spots at which to kill him. The easiest spot I can think of is in Winter Contingency. As you drive down to the final outpost (If you head round on the right) he'll sometimes be standing right before that. If you can hit him with your truck, that's a 1 hit K.O. It takes no time to get there and on Legendary, I've seen him there very frequently, and you can still just leg it past most of the enemies.

Another level I can suggest is Long Night of Solace. He'll either be in the computer room with the 3 Invisible Elites (See if you can get an assassination/beat down) or he'll be in the room where the Pelican landed. You'll see him in the first couple of waves.

There are many other places, those are just the 2 I've had the least trouble with.

Make a Wish… – Earn a Running Riot in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1000 cR

15 kills in a Row. That's a tough one. I could suggest Multi-Team again and stay out of the action but if you make that last for 15 kills I congratulate you. I could suggest Grifball. When you're the Bomb carrier you can score at least 1-2 kills before needing a health kit. If you play it smart you can do it.

Throwing Fireballs – Kill 7 enemies with grenades in a multiplayer Matchmaking game – 1200 cR

1 game can be a bit of a troublesome time to get this. I'm going to say invasion. Health supplies of both Plasma & Frag for you to enjoy, plus the long time required to use them.

The Love of the Game – Complete 20 games in multiplayer Matchmaking – 2500 cR

Go in and play this game you all love. No need to win, just end. You'll enjoy the game better that way.

That's it, last day for the weekly, so stick those skulls on and start charging.
